Leverage quantity rules and volume pricing on Shopify to establish specific quantity requirements or offer tiered price discounts for your B2B orders.

***For example:***

* If you want to sell a product in specific increments to your B2B customers or limit the quantity a customer can purchase at once, you can set [quantity rules](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/catalogs/quantity-pricing#quantity-rules).
* If you want to offer price discounts to customers who purchase a certain quantity of a product, you can set up [volume pricing](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/catalogs/quantity-pricing#volume-pricing).

{% hint style="info" %}
**Quantity rules** and **Volume pricing** are managed together but can also be used independently based on your business needs.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Support for Quantity rules and Volume pricing is **available from version 8.5.0 and above**.

See [changelog](https://docs.foxecom.com/zest-theme/changelog "mention")
{% endhint %}

You can set quantity rules in the **Catalogs** section of your Shopify admin, or by [importing a CSV](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/catalogs/creating-catalogs#export-and-import-catalogs).

{% hint style="success" %}
**Steps:**

1. Complete the [**Initial steps**](#initial-steps).
2. Do either of the following:

   * To set quantity rules for all variants of a product, hover over the product that you want to edit.

   <figure><img src="https://1836495117-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FOdebKCa6IK9qfbdvSKj0%2Fuploads%2FTh9ICze5wC4OxMPXJOlz%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=88a4b9a9-90cd-4816-9afc-c850b5e75521" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

   * To set quantity rules for a specific product variant:

     * Click the link to the variants underneath the product name.

     <figure><img src="https://1836495117-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FOdebKCa6IK9qfbdvSKj0%2Fuploads%2Fbm6PTivLLeMnCbDOVTsZ%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=f375e954-2344-43f2-bade-0994b20b2309" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

     * Hover over the product variant that you want to edit.

     <figure><img src="https://1836495117-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FOdebKCa6IK9qfbdvSKj0%2Fuploads%2FpfytTMlioWcrqlarLemM%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=5475aea2-2e32-45e0-adfa-d277db1c993e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
3. In the **Quantity rules** column, click **+ Add**.&#x20;

When the **Edit quantity rules and volume pricing** dialog displays, do the following:

* Update the **Increment** and **Minimum** fields from their default values if needed.
* *Optional:* Fill in the **Maximum** field to limit the amount of the variant that a customer can purchase in one order.
* Review the displayed values. The values might autocorrect when the quantity rules entered are invalid.

  <figure><img src="https://1836495117-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FOdebKCa6IK9qfbdvSKj0%2Fuploads%2FQA5GzwMghIqmewdTY6Cb%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=784b303e-a776-463b-8f9c-9faae133496e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
* Click **Done**.
  {% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Note:** All quantity rules set in your catalogs apply to each product's variants independently, not to the product as a whole.&#x20;

*For example:* If you set a minimum quantity rule for a product with multiple color variants, then the customer needs to purchase at least that quantity of all the same color variants.
{% endhint %}
