Back-in-stock Deactivation Plan
This article outlines the deactivation plan for FoxKit back in stock feature.
The FoxKit Back in Stock feature will be deactivated and no longer available after May 1, 2026.
We understand that Back in Stock has been an important tool for many merchants, and this decision was not made lightly. Over time, however, we’ve identified growing limitations in the existing feature - especially as stores need more control, better timing, and more flexible automation to effectively convert out-of-stock demand into sales.
To support more advanced use cases and long-term growth, we’ve built XFlow Back-in-Stock Automation, which will officially replace FoxKit’s Back in Stock feature.
This article walks you through what’s changing, why it’s happening, and how to migrate smoothly to XFlow.
Key Dates & Timeline
Now – April 30, 2026
FoxKit Back in Stock continues to work as usual. You can install and test XFlow in parallel.
May 1, 2026
FoxKit Back in Stock will be deactivated. Restock notifications from FoxKit will stop sending.
To avoid disruption, we strongly recommend migrating to XFlow before this date.
Why We’re Deactivating FoxKit Back in Stock
FoxKit Back in Stock was designed as a simple notification tool: Notify customers when a product is restocked.
However, customer needs have evolved.
Through real merchant usage and support feedback, we found that:
One-time restock emails often miss conversion opportunities
Merchants want control over timing, follow-ups, and segmentation
Stores need more than email—such as internal alerts and push notifications
Advanced flows (VIP access, delays, incentives) aren’t possible in FoxKit
Rather than continuing to add complexity to a limited system, we chose to build a new automation-first solution from the ground up. That’s XFlow Back in stock automation.
XFlow: The New Back in Stock Solution
XFlow Back in Stock Automation is developed by the same FoxKit team. XFlow includes all the features you already love about FoxKit’s Back-in-Stock, plus more:
Start the flow before the product restocks (subscription confirmation)
Control when restock emails are sent
Create multi-step follow-ups instead of one-off emails
Segment customers (VIP, loyalty, previous buyers)
Add incentives only when needed
Notify your internal team in real time
Combine email with other channels like push notifications
In short: If FoxKit helped you notify, XFlow helps you convert.
