Improve your page's SEO

3 min read

A page that looks great but never shows up in search results won't drive traffic. Foxify's built-in SEO Checker scans your page and flags what to fix — pair it with a few on-page habits below to give every page a real shot at ranking.

Start by running Foxify's SEO Checker (left sidebar of the editor) — it scans your page across a range of on-page factors like meta description, H1, and alt text, then scores it and sorts findings into Good, Improvements, and Issues by severity. Fix High-severity items first, then re-analyze to confirm.

Tips to raise your score

A few habits that consistently move the needle — not exhaustive, but a solid starting checklist for any page.

  1. Use one clear H1 per page
Set it to your main keyword and match what visitors are actually searching for. Keep it to one — extra H1s dilute the signal.
  2. Write a meta description that earns the click
Keep it around 150–160 characters, lead with the benefit, and include your primary keyword. This is one of the checks Foxify flags first if it's missing. To add your SEO title and SEO description, check out Page settings.
  3. Add descriptive alt text to every image
Describe what's actually in the image, work your keyword in naturally where it fits, and leave alt text empty for purely decorative images.
  4. Keep your page URL short and relevant
A short, keyword-relevant handle is easier for both search engines and visitors to read than a long or generic one.
  5. Link with purpose
Link to related products, collections, or pages internally, and make sure any outbound links are relevant and actually work — broken or low-quality links are one of the more common Issues the checker surfaces.
  6. Set a social sharing preview image
This controls the image and text people see when the page is shared on Facebook, X, or other social platforms — Foxify's SEO Checker flags an empty one as a common issue.
To set social sharing image, go to Page settings. This is per page and only applies to pages you build in Foxify.
  7. Don't forget your favicon and site-wide defaults
A missing favicon is a small but easy fix the checker will flag. It isn't a Foxify setting — it lives at the theme level and applies across your whole store.
To set up favicon, go to your Shopify theme editor > Theme settings.
  8. Keep the page fast and mobile-friendly
Compress large images and avoid stacking too many heavy sections — page speed is a ranking factor, and most search traffic arrives on mobile. See Check and adjust mobile view for more.

FAQs

Does the SEO Checker cost credits every time?
Yes, each Re-analyze uses 1 magic credit. Make your edits first, then re-analyze once to confirm, rather than scanning after every small change.

Why is my score still low after fixing the flagged issues?
Click Re-analyze — the score only updates on a new scan, it doesn't recalculate live as you edit.

Do I need a perfect score before publishing?
No — prioritize High-severity issues first. Some Medium items are worth fixing but won't block a page from ranking or publishing.
