# Account & Billing: FAQs Find answers to common questions about your XFlow plans and pricing **How is my monthly XFlow bill calculated?**
Your monthly bill consists of: * A monthly subscription fee for your selected plan. * Any usage fees if your recovered revenue exceeds your plan's included allowance. *Learn more:* [*Plans & Pricing*](about\:blank) **What is recovered revenue?**
Recovered revenue is the amount of eligible order revenue that XFlow attributes to its notifications. It is used to calculate your plan usage and any applicable usage fees.
*Learn more:* [*How XFlow tracks and attributes recovered revenue*](about\:blank) **If I upgrade today, when will my new plan take effect?**
Your new plan takes effect as soon as you approve the subscription in Shopify. Any usage after that is tracked under your new plan. **If I downgrade my plan, will I lose any data or subscribers?**
No. Changing your plan doesn't delete your workflows, subscribers, or recovered revenue history. However, some premium features may become unavailable if they're not included in your new plan. **I recovered $5,000 during my 7-day free trial. Will I be charged when the trial ends?**
You will not be charged any subscription or usage fees while the free trial is active. However, the $5,000 in recovered revenue remains in your Usage tracker when the trial ends.
Once your paid subscription begins, you will be charged your selected monthly plan fee; and any applicable usage fees if your total recovered revenue exceeds the usage allowance included in that plan.
Usage fees are calculated based on your current plan’s rate. **If I upgrade mid-month, do I pay the full month's base fee or just the remaining days?**
Shopify handles billing proration automatically. When you upgrade, you're charged a prorated base fee for the remaining days in the current billing cycle—not the full month. Usage fee counting starts fresh from the day your paid plan activates. **What's the difference between Starter and Growth? Is the lower rate worth the higher base fee?**
It depends on your recovered revenue. Growth has a higher base fee ($19 vs $9) but a lower usage rate ($5 vs $7 per $1,000) and a much higher free threshold ($3,000 vs $1,000).
*At $3,500 recovered: Starter \= $9 + 3 × $7 \= $30. Growth \= $19 + 1 × $5 \= $24. Growth wins.*
*At $800 recovered: Starter \= $9. Growth \= $19. Starter wins.*
Use the Fee calculator to find your break-even point. **Why was I charged even though I canceled my plan?**
Canceling your plan stops future recurring charges, but it doesn't remove charges that were already incurred.
If you canceled after your paid subscription started, your Shopify invoice may still include: * Any monthly subscription fee that had already been billed. * Any usage fees incurred before the cancellation took effect. Since XFlow is billed through Shopify, these charges appear on your next Shopify invoice according to Shopify's app billing cycle. **How do I know when it's cheaper to upgrade instead of paying usage fees?**
Use the **Estimate fee** calculator on the **Plans & Billing** page. Enter your expected monthly recovered revenue to compare the estimated total monthly cost for each plan, including both the monthly subscription fee and any usage fees.
If a higher-tier plan results in a lower estimated total cost, upgrading may be the more cost-effective option.
