# I published a different theme — where did my history go?

## Nothing is lost

The History screen shows the timeline of your **current** live theme. When you publish a different theme, the old theme's timeline stops accruing and the new theme's starts — with a fresh baseline, recording the new theme as it was found that day.

## See the old timeline

On the History screen, turn on **Include what came before this theme**. The old timeline appears, marked as no longer your live theme, with the date its history ends. Those recordings can still be opened, compared, and restored from.

## What restoring from the old timeline does

A restore goes back into **the theme the recording came from** — the old theme, which is now unpublished. Restoring a single file from it writes into that theme in place; restoring a whole version makes a copy of that theme. Neither touches the theme your customers now see.

## Your snippets

## Roll-off

The old timeline ages out on the same 30-day clock. Its baseline and any recordings you kept stay.
