# The first scan never finished ## What the home screen shows The first scan runs in three steps — finding your live theme, reading its files, recording the first snapshot. If it stops, the home screen says so and offers to run it again. Snapty keeps no partial recording. A scan that read half a theme would look exactly like a theme with half its files deleted, so an unfinished scan writes nothing. ## Run it again Press the button on the home screen. A large theme takes a minute or two; give it that long before treating it as stuck. ## If it stops again Open the activity log — **History → View all activity**. The failed run is listed with a reason line: | Reason line | What to do | | --- | --- | | **The check stopped before it finished reading your theme** | Shopify did not return all the files. Usually transient; try again in a few minutes | | **Snapty could not confirm which theme is live** | Shopify did not report a published theme. Confirm in Online Store → Themes that a theme is published, then try again | | **Interrupted** | Snapty restarted mid-scan. Try again | If it fails three times, contact support with the time of the last attempt. ## Nothing on your store is affected A scan reads. It writes nothing into any theme, whether it finishes or not.
