# I deleted the theme a recording came from ## What survives The recordings. Every one taken from that theme stays on your timeline — under **Include what came before this theme** if it was not your current live theme — and can still be opened and compared. ## What does not Restoring from them. Both restore shapes need the theme: a single-file restore writes back into it, and a whole-version restore makes a copy of it. Once the theme is deleted from Shopify, neither has anywhere to go. The recording is not damaged; the theme is what is gone. The screen says so rather than offering a button that cannot work: *"That theme is no longer on this store."* ## Can it be undone? Not by Snapty — Snapty never produces a theme from its own stored files. Shopify's theme library has no trash either. A deleted theme is gone. ## Next time If a theme's history matters to you, restore it into a copy **before** deleting the original. A theme sitting in your library costs nothing, and it is the only form a recording can be turned back into.
