# Overview
What Snapty costs, what it records, what it stores, and how it tells you when something needs your attention.
## One plan, and it is free
Snapty has one plan today, and it is free. There is no trial that expires and no card to add.
**Everything you see now stays free. Paid plans will add more — they will not take anything away.**
| | Free plan |
| --- | --- |
| Price | $0 a month |
| Themes recorded | Your live theme |
| Check frequency | Daily |
| History kept | 30 days — baseline and before-a-restore recordings kept permanently |
| Kept recordings | 3 at a time |
| Restore | Single file and whole version, unlimited |
| Vault snippets | 5 |
| Alerts | By email — see below |
The free plan and its limits are permanent. Paid plans, when they come, add capacity on top — more frequent checks, longer history, more snippets — and change nothing about what the free plan already does. Nothing on your account changes without notice.
## What is recorded, and why only that
Your live theme. Not the copies in your theme library, not a development theme.
Shopify sends no notification when a theme file is edited, so the only way to know is to read the theme and compare — and that read has a cost. Snapty spends it on the theme your customers are looking at. This is what the app does today, not a limit on your plan, and there is nothing to upgrade to for more.
## Notifications
Snapty sends alerts **by email**, because the whole premise is that you do not know a change happened — you are not sitting in the app when it does.
They are the safety net, and a safety net with a switch on it is not one.
| Alert | When |
| --- | --- |
| **Something breaks after you publish** | A regression is detected after a theme is published |
| **Your theme stopped receiving updates** | Snapty detects that the theme is no longer eligible for its vendor's updates |
| **A new version of your theme is released** | The vendor ships a version newer than the one you run |
| **Your history is about to roll off** | At least 7 days before your oldest recordings expire |
**One alert you choose the pace of:** the routine *"N files changed"* notice. On the free plan it arrives as a **weekly summary**; you can turn the summary off. Paid plans will offer it immediately, and extra recipients.
Alerts go to your shop's contact email unless you set a different one on the Settings screen.
## What Snapty stores, and where
| What | Where |
| --- | --- |
| Your theme's files, as recorded | Object storage, content-addressed — an identical file is stored once |
| The list of files in each recording, and when it was taken | The database |
| Your Vault snippets | The database, and a storage slot Shopify holds for the app embeds to read |
| Your shop's name, plan, timezone and contact email | The database |
No products, no orders, no customers. Snapty does not request the permissions that would let it read them.
## How long, and what happens on uninstall
- Recordings roll off after **30 days**, except your baseline, before-a-restore recordings, and the ones you keep.
- **If you uninstall**, everything Snapty holds for your store is deleted within 30 days.
- **Delete all my data** on the Settings screen does it immediately, after a confirmation.
- **Left in your theme: nothing**, because nothing was ever written into it — Vault code is delivered by an app embed, and the embed goes when the app does.
## Common questions
Yes, and permanently. The limits above are the free plan; paid plans add to them.
Because Snapty records the live theme only, today. It is not a plan limit.
No. Routine changes arrive as a weekly summary on the free plan. The four alerts that mean something is wrong arrive immediately.
You can turn off the weekly summary. The four alerts are always sent — they exist so that a broken storefront or a stopped update does not go unnoticed.
Everything is deleted within 30 days. Nothing is left in your theme.
No. It deletes what Snapty holds — recordings and snippets. Your theme is untouched. Snippets stop being delivered, because there is nothing left to deliver.
