# Social media

**Social media** is one of the most effective tools for marketing and brand awareness.

By connecting your social accounts to your store, you can help customers easily engage with your brand and stay updated on your latest news, promotions, and products.

  **Social accounts** and **Sharing options** work **independently**. You can enable a sharing option for a network even if you don't have a social account on that network, and you can add a social account without enabling its sharing option.

  | **Social accounts** | Add the links to your social media profiles. These links are used wherever the theme displays social icons, such as in the footer. |
