Customize search results
The online store search is a fully featured, powerful tool for your customers to search across all of your store's products, blog posts, and pages.
You can customize your search results with the Search & Discovery app from Shopify. The app provides a number of search features and settings that change the behavior of your online store search.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Apps.
Select Search & Discovery app > Settings.
Make necessary changes.
Save the settings.

Choose what results appear for customers in the search bar.
Queries

Customize how the out of stock products are displayed in your search results
Choose what order you want out of stock products to appear in your search results, including predictive search results.
At the end of the list
Not at all - hide the sold-old products from the list
Mixed with all other results.
