Shopify recommends using **New customer accounts** to access the latest customer account features and improvements.

**Customer Account Components** are available only with **New customer accounts**. If your store is still using **Legacy customer accounts**, switch to **New customer accounts** in your Shopify admin before using this feature.

### Before you start

## Supported sign-in methods

## How it works

* The account icon appears in the store header on all pages.
* **Signed out:** shows a default account icon
* **Signed in:** shows the customer's initial or Shop profile photo.
