What if there's no visible H1 tag?

No worries — in Hyper theme, the homepage logo is automatically set as the H1 tag. This is by design and follows Shopify’s SEO best practices.

Even if SEO tools warn about a missing H1, it won’t harm your ranking. The logo acting as an H1 is a common approach and works well for homepage SEO.

On other pages (like product or blog pages), Shopify automatically uses the product or post title as the H1 — so every page still has a clear, SEO-friendly heading.

How to edit the H1 tag?

Advanced customization:

• In the Hyper theme, developers can make changes to the H1 tag by editing the .liquid file found in the Snippets folder. This allows for more precise control over the title and H1 tag on various pages of the site.

• This approach is best for users who are familiar with Shopify’s Liquid templating language or those working with a developer.

Should I worry about having multiple H1 tags on a page?

Not really. It’s now common in modern web design to use more than one H1 tag on a page — and Google’s updated SEO guidelines support this, as long as the tags are used logically and fit the content.

That said, it’s still best practice to use H1 tags thoughtfully. Each page should ideally have one main H1 that reflects the primary topic. If you do use multiple H1 tags (like on a long page with several sections), just make sure each one clearly relates to the content that follows.
