# Inventory status

Show stock status on your product pages, so shoppers know if a product is in stock, running low, or coming back soon. Low stock alerts create urgency and help shoppers decide faster.
Available on Starter, Growth, and Enterprise plans.
### Before you start
Inventory Status uses your stock data from Shopify. For each product you want to show stock status on:
1. In your Shopify admin, open the product, then open the variant.
2. Under **Inventory**, select **Track quantity**.
3. Clear **Continue selling when out of stock**.
## Add Inventory status to your product page
1. In the FoxStudio editor, open **Apps market** (**A**), find **Inventory Status**, and select **Install extension**.
2. Open **Add elements** (**E**) > **App blocks**, then find **Inventory Status** under **Installed apps**.
3. Drag the block **inside the Product details element**.
## Customize stock messages
After installing the extension, open it again in **Apps market** to set the wording for each stock status. Click **Update** to save.
| Setting | Default message |
| ------------------------- | ------------------------------------ |
| **Low stock heading** | Low stock - \{\{ count }} items left |
| **In stock heading** | In stock, ready to ship |
| **On the way heading** | More items are on the way |
| **Incoming heading** | More incoming items on \{\{ date }} |
| **Back in stock heading** | Back in stock \{\{ date }} |
Use these variables to show live stock data:
* `{{ count }}`: the number of items left in stock.
* `{{ date }}`: the estimated arrival date from your Shopify transfer or purchase order.
## Settings
Select the block on your canvas to open its settings in the Inspector.
### General
| Setting | What it does |
| ---------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Low inventory threshold** | The stock level at which a product shows as low stock, from 0 to 20.
For example, set it to 10 to show "Low stock" when 10 or fewer items are left. |
| **Show progress bar** | Show a bar that visually represents how much stock is left. |
| **Show inventory transfer notice** | Let shoppers know when more stock is on the way. Requires an inventory transfer or purchase order in Shopify (see below). |

* **On the way:** mark the transfer as **In progress**.
* **Incoming:** mark it as **Ready to ship**, create a shipment with an estimated arrival date, then mark it as **In transit**.
**For Back in stock:** create a purchase order
1. Make sure the product is out of stock.
2. In your Shopify admin, go to **Products** > **Purchase orders** and create a purchase order.
3. Select an estimated arrival date, then mark it as **Ordered**.

## Tips
* **Set a realistic threshold.** If you usually stock 100 items, a threshold of 5–10 creates urgency without showing "Low stock" all the time.
* **Use the progress bar on product pages with strong visuals.** It draws attention better than text alone.
## FAQs
#### Why isn't Inventory status showing?
Check that:
* The block is **inside the Product Details element** on your product template.
* **Track quantity** is selected and **Continue selling when out of stock** is cleared for the product.
* You've saved your changes and are viewing the preview or live page.
#### Why doesn't the incoming stock notice show?
Make sure **Show inventory transfer notice** is turned on, and the transfer or purchase order in Shopify has the right status and an estimated arrival date.
#### Can I change the stock messages?
Yes. Open **Apps market** > **Inventory Status** > **Settings**, edit the heading for each status, then click **Update**. See [Customize stock messages](https://docs.foxecom.com/foxify-app/integrations/foxify-extensions/inventory-status#customize-stock-messages).
