# Age verifier

Ask visitors to confirm their age before entering your store. Useful for stores selling alcohol, tobacco, vapes, or other age-restricted products.

Available on Starter, Growth, and Enterprise plans.

## Turn on Age Verifier

1. In the FoxStudio editor, open **Apps market** (**A**).
2. Find **Age Verifier** and select **Install extension**.
3. Open the extension again to set up your messages (see below), then click **Update**.

There's no block to add. Once installed, the age check shows as a pop-up when visitors open any page built with Foxify.

  Age Verifier shows on pages built with Foxify. Pages from your Shopify theme, like the default cart or theme product pages, won't show the pop-up. If your whole store needs age verification, make sure your key pages are built with Foxify, or use an additional age verification app for theme pages.

This is what visitors see when the pop-up first opens:

### Declined settings

This is what visitors see if they select the decline button:

* Message
* Return button label

The message editor supports formatting, links, and images, so you can add your logo or a link to your policy page.

The return button lets visitors go back to the first screen if they selected the wrong option by mistake.

### Styling

Text and buttons follow your store's [Global styles](https://docs.foxecom.com/foxify-app/foxstudio/page-customization/global-styles), so the pop-up matches the rest of your store. To change fonts, colors, or button styles, update your global styles.

## Tips

* **Keep the message friendly.** Visitors who decline might be adults who clicked the wrong button, so avoid harsh wording.
* **Preview on mobile.** Make sure the heading and buttons fit on small screens without scrolling.
* **Test in a private window.** Once you've confirmed your age, your browser remembers it. Use a private or incognito window to see the pop-up again.

## FAQs

#### Does Age Verifier check a visitor's ID?

No. It asks visitors to confirm their age, but doesn't verify identity. Check the laws in your region to see if you need stricter age verification.

#### Does the pop-up show on all pages of my store?

Only on pages built with Foxify. Pages from your Shopify theme won't show the pop-up.

#### Will visitors see the pop-up every time?

No. Once visitors confirm their age, their choice is saved in their browser. They'll only see the pop-up again if they clear their browser cache, or visit from a different browser or device.

#### Why don't I see the pop-up?

The pop-up doesn't show in the editor. To test it, open a Foxify page on your live store.<br/>If you've already confirmed your age before, your choice is saved in your browser. To see the pop-up again, open your store in a private or incognito window, or clear your browser cache.
