# How Foxify works with your Shopify theme
Foxify builds on top of your existing Shopify theme instead of replacing it. Pages you create in Foxify live alongside your theme's core pages — so knowing what Foxify can (and can't) touch helps you avoid surprises later, especially before switching themes or uninstalling.
## Theme compatibility
Foxify works with any **Online Store 2.0 and 3.0 (OS 2.0 and 3.0)** theme — both your store's live theme and any unpublished theme you're still working on. Testing on an unpublished theme lets you design and finalize a layout privately, without affecting what visitors currently see.
By default, Foxify targets your live theme. To work on a different one instead, go to Foxify **Settings > General** and select the theme you want.
If your Foxify pages are already published, republish them after switching to a different theme — the change doesn't carry over automatically.
## What pages Foxify can build
Foxify covers most core Shopify page types:
* **Home page** — your main storefront page
* **Regular pages** — About Us, Contact, landing pages, custom campaign pages
* **Product pages** — product detail templates
* **Collection pages** — collection templates
* **Blog posts** — individual article pages
* **Password page** — for pre-launch or private access
* **404 page** — for lost visitors
A few pages stay under Shopify or theme control and can't be edited in Foxify, for security, compliance, or functionality reasons:
* The blog page that lists your posts
* Cart and checkout pages
* Customer account pages (login, register, order history)
* Policy pages (Terms of Service, Privacy Policy)
## How Foxify integrates with your theme's code
Foxify keeps your pages and changes intact by leaving some of its files in your theme — this is what makes your saved content continue to display correctly. Even if you uninstall the app, these files stay behind by default, so your published pages don't break.
After uninstalling, published Foxify pages and sections stay live for a grace period — but are automatically unpublished 90 days after uninstall. [Learn more about uninstalling Foxify](https://docs.foxecom.com/foxify-app/getting-started/account-and-billing/uninstall-foxify).
Want everything fully removed right away instead? Before uninstalling, go to **Settings > Danger zone > Purge theme files**, type "permanently delete" to confirm, and hit **Confirm**. It can take a few minutes to complete.
## FAQs
**Can I try Foxify without affecting my live store?**
Yes — select an unpublished theme in Foxify Settings > General to design and test privately before anything goes live.
**What happens to my Foxify pages if I switch themes?**
You'll need to republish already-published pages after switching — the new theme doesn't automatically pick them up.
**Can I revert to my theme's original page if I stop using a Foxify page?**
Yes. Unpublish the page in Foxify — products or collections that were assigned to that Foxify template automatically revert to your theme's default template. For the home page specifically, unpublishing reverts it back to your theme's original home page. Learn more: [Create a page](https://docs.foxecom.com/foxify-app/pages/page-creation)
