# All about credit
Credits are what power Foxify's AI features. Every time you build a page with Foxie, generate text, write SEO metadata, or auto-translate a page, Foxify draws from your monthly credit allowance — so knowing how credits work helps you get through the month without running dry.
Credits don't carry over. Your balance resets on the 1st of every month, and any unused credits from the previous month are gone.
Coming soon: buying extra credits. Purchased credits will be separate from your monthly allowance and won't expire.
## Where your credits come from
Your plan determines how many credits you get each month — the higher the plan, the larger the allowance. Go to **Settings > Plan** to check your current plan details, or view your exact allowance under **Plans & Pricing** in your Foxify dashboard.
You can also see your remaining balance at the bottom of the Foxie chat panel while you work.

Foxie doesn't have a fixed price per message. A request costs more the more work it takes to complete, so a small edit draws far less than a full page build.
Keep an eye on the balance at the bottom of the Foxie chat panel as you work — it updates as you go, so you can see what a given kind of request tends to cost you.
## What happens when you run out
Foxie always finishes the request it's working on. If your balance runs out during a build, that build still completes — you won't be left with a half-finished page.
The next request is what gets blocked. Foxie tells you your credits are used up, and nothing on your page changes until your allowance resets on the 1st of the month, or you move to a plan with a larger allowance.

**What happens if I run out of credits before the month ends?**
Foxify is still rolling out the ability to buy extra credits. Until that's available, you'll need to wait for your monthly reset to keep using Fox Magic features.

**Why did one Foxie request cost more than another?**
Foxie's cost depends on how much work a request takes. Building a full page runs through many steps; changing a single button runs through one.
